7 Facts About Me

Just thought it would be fun to make this tag, even though I haven’t been tagged (and it’s really a tag on Youtube), or have any friends who own a blog (because I’m that big of a loser or something like that). And I decided to do write 7 facts about myself, because there are still things I’m afraid to admit, and some things a lot of people already know about me. But just something to share with you, who is reading this right now, so you might get to know me a little better. But it’s also to help myself being able to open up to people, even though I don’t really know you, and I can’t see you through the screen (that would be a little bit creepy).

So here are the 7 facts:

1 I don’t eat vegetables and fruits. I know it’s not exactly that healthy, but I do eat vegetables, when it’s cooked in with the food. If it’s raw, I usually don’t eat it, but I can do it, unless it’s mixed in a salad. Because it’s mixed, I can’t really eat it, especially if it’s mixed with something I don’t like, like a vegetable with a lot of water. Just can’t eat that. The same kind of goes for fruit, but I just don’t generally eat fruit, especially the ones with a lot of juice, like oranges and so on. I know it’s not healthy, but I hope that in the future I will be able to at least eat vegetables like a normal person.

2 I would love to be able to sing. Seriously. I love to watch people sing and listen to songs, whenever I can. Just a bit sad that I can’t sing. Or, not that well. Really thinking about trying to get a teacher (or whatever they are called), to teach me how to sing. I would love to be able to hit the notes and just be able to sing, where it kinda sounds good.

3 I don’t drink fizzy drinks or alcohol. I have tried it, but I have never liked it. But I have to admit it’s really funny sometimes, telling people that I don’t drink anything like soda or alcohol. With the fizzy drinks, it’s because I don’t like the fake/sweet taste it have, and the fizzy stuff in them. I just don’t like drinking it. The same goes for alcohol. I don’t like the taste. Not even if it has the smallest amount of alcohol in it, I will be able to taste it, and I won’t like it. There have been people claiming the can mix up a drink that I will like, but they haven’t done it, so I haven’t tried it. But at least it’s healthy for me, not drinking any kind of fizzy drinks or alcohol.

4 I have social phobia. It’s still one of these things that I’m afraid to admit to people. I don’t know how long I’ve had social phobia, but I was told that in April by a doctor. It affects my daily life, even on the internet and not just outside in the real life. I have a difficult time talking to people for many reasons, and I get panic attacks from time to time. I’m not going to go too deeply into this at the moment. I’ll maybe write a blog post about it someday, but not today.

5 I love to game. Something I have been enjoying since I was a kid. Remember playing Crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation. I even remember watching my cousin play Grand Theft Auto, while I was still a kid and quite young. I think it’s my 3 cousins fault for me loving to game. They got me into Crash Bandicoot, because they had some of the games themselves. Later on I discovered other games for myself and I still have those games. I can also recall those times, where I played with friends e.g. my friend would control the keyboard and I the mouse, or we would sit together and play Pokémon on our GameBoy’s. I can even remember a time, at a swim camp, I tried Counterstrike for the first time with some of the guys and girls, and I even won a few rounds against them. Really fun and games are still a big part of me today.

6 I train self-defence. I train jiu-jitsu, which I have been for around 4-5 years, and I had a 2 years break because of boarding school. It’s great going to training and just gets to have that feeling that I can do something. I find it great that I can throw those who are almost twice as big as me, which is a great feeling. Even though I’m the only girl on the team at the moment, it’s still great. Sadly I have to stop in January because I’m going to move to another city, so I won’t be able to participate in the training, because the distance will be too big. But I will enjoy it as long as I can.

7 I have an addiction to chocolate. Just have a big love for chocolate, but not when it’s stuffed chocolate (and funny enough, I’m sitting with a glass filled with chocolate milk, and I have a box with dark chocolate right next to me *closes box*). I just have for a really long time. I love Nutella, dark/light/white chocolate. Almost any kind of chocolate. Sadly, it’s not a healthy addiction. I’m really trying to bring it down by eating dark chocolate instead of light. It’s a bit healthier, but still a bit bad for me, especially when I drink a lot of chocolate milk.

That was those 7 facts about me. I will try to write a post, next time, about something a bit different than just about me. But one question from me: Are there any interesting facts about you that I should know?

Confidence

This time I want to talk about, as you can guess from the title, confidence. I’ve just been a bit too lazy, to just start writing about, and I’ve had a small marathon, which consisted of watching anime the last couple of days. And I’ve also been a bit (a lot!) guilty of procrastinating.

A cliché as it sounds, it started at work around two weeks ago, where I just suddenly realised that I’m actually quite confident compared to how I was just 2 years ago. I’m still struggling a bit about my confidence, but it’s getting so much better for me. There has been a few tricks (if you can call it that) to boost my confidence. Just to point it out that I’m not a professional and this is just from experience, but I’d like to share some of those things that helped me to boost my confidence.

There is no certain order to do these things, just do them, even though it can sound a bit silly.

Embrace your imperfection!

Oh yes, those annoying imperfections, you find about yourself that you just hate. Embrace them and accept them as a bit of you! No one is perfect, and it’s the little imperfections that make you who you are. You have zits? They’re not permanent! You have a crooked nose? So do I! You don’t like your hair? Well, I do!

I can already point out what kind of things I don’t like about my body, but I’m slowly getting to that point, where I accept and embrace them, because they’re a part of me. For the longest time I e.g. didn’t like my crooked nose at all, but I’m slowly starting to love it, because it’s a part of me, and I don’t want to change that. Even though there are still a few things you can change, if you want to. E.g. I have a bit of bad skin with a little acne, redness and blackheads, but I try to get a skincare routine which might help with my skin problem (have seen a bit of change!). But I’ve decided that my skin problem should not be a problem to my confidence, because my skin does not define me, but the way I act, think and so on, which has nothing to do with your looks, defines me.

Love yourself!

It’s sooo important to be able to love yourself. Yes, you have imperfections, but there are also perfections about you. E.g. you like your body, then you should show it! I’m not talking about bragging, but it is okay to love yourself. I’ve been thinking for a long time that I was not allowed to like myself, because that would seem arrogant. But I AM allowed to like myself. We are human beings, and we have to be able to live with ourselves, and we should be allowed to like ourselves without thinking other people will find it arrogant.

We are allowed to think that we are hot, beautiful, sexy and all that positive thinking about ourselves! Yes, there are people, who will try to bring us down, and it can be really hard to try to ignore them. That’s why we have to work on our confidence to just brush those mean comments, from people, aside.

You can just stand in front of the mirror and say: “I’m hot!“, “I’m sexy as hell!”, “I’m worth it!” and all kinds of positive thinks about yourself.

You could even listen to different songs to boost your confidence. It helped me!

And don’t you just find this picture fitting for this? Yes, we’re allowed to think that we are just sexy as hell, and there is NOTHING wrong with us! And if you have a friend giving a mean comment about you, then just tell them to shut up, and if they always do it, then they are not a real friend. A bit harsh to say, but it’s true. I’ve had a few friends, who would bring me down, but now that I’m not friends with those people anymore, I feel lighter and better about myself. It was tough in the beginning, but everyday I’m smiling more and more and I feel my confidence boost almost every day.

Yes, there are days, where you literally just feel like shit, but it’s okay. That happens, and it’s also okay to feel sad, as long as you just in the end stand up and fight for yourself.

Yes, a long rant, but I’m not really sorry about it. I just hope it might help some of you out there, who are struggling with their confidence, and I really just want to be able to help in one way or another.

EDIT: Just realized that the post was mostly about confidence in your looks, but it's not just that! It can also be about one's personality, but I focused more on the looks, because that what's I've been struggling with the most.

Changes

Finally had time to sit down and write a blogpost. I haven’t had the time because last weekend I went to Germany for a jiu-jitsu seminar (gained lots of bruises!), had work and been a little bit ill.

But this post is about changes. Thursday last week I got an e-mail from the school, which is where I have a standby-spot (means that I get in, when there is eventually room for me), and the e-mail said I could start February. That means in January I have to move to another city. It will be a little bit scary, but also exciting. I have been looking for apartments and just hope I will find one in time. Don’t really want to take a 2-hour trip from one city to another every day, when I have to go to school.

But still, with the moving there are a lot of things I have to figure out and get. I’m pretty sure that it will be a big mess for me, and I wouldn’t even know what to do. If it’s not for my parents I wouldn’t even know how to do things. They’re going to be a big help, when I’m going to move in January (if I find an apartment in time). I will probably document my little journey about moving out in the big world. Share my troubles, my goals, my apartment maybe and all other stuff, because moving out of my parents’ house will be a really big change for me. At least I already have a lot of stuff for when I’m moving out. There are still a few things (maybe a lot. I’m not that sure right now) I need, but I’m probably first getting that, when I have an apartment (e.g. a bed), and I only know for sure that the apartment won’t be that big, because I don’t have a lot of money. But I’ll get to see, what I need to get, when I finally have the apartment.

And change is not a big thing. It can lead to bad things and good things, but you will never know until you make that change. But I really hope that moving out will turn out to be a big change. But there is only one way to figure that out, because I surely don’t know the future.

Well, I hope I won’t majorly screw up, when I get to move into an apartment to live by myself!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always enjoyed being by myself. I’m not really that fond of company for a long time, but I like it if it’s for a small period of time.

I remember, when I started school, I was a tad sad that I didn’t have any friends I could talk to in the break. But later on, it didn’t really face me. In school, when we had recess, I would most likely listen to a cd on a disk-man (that’s what they were called, wasn’t it? Damn, I’m old!) or read a book either in the corner of the classroom or in the library. Later on I did get some friends, who I could hang out with doing recess. Mostly we would actually go to the library, so I could read or listen to music on my (new) iPod (Wohoo! Upgrade!). They would talk and I would make my input from time to time. They didn’t really seem to mind that, so that wasn’t so bad.

Then after 7^th grade I switched school. My friends weren’t happy about that, but I just wasn’t happy in the class. I was then again alone doing recess most of the time. Sometimes one of my classmates would interact with me, but that wasn’t often. I remember in 9^th grade there was a big party I wasn’t invited to, and that was mostly because I wasn’t really friends with any of my classmates. I did feel sad about it, but also a bit happy. I don’t like going to a big, wild party. I’ll just end up leaving as one of the first, because I just wouldn’t feel comfortable. So I didn’t really have much of a social life, and that has been going on even after I finished school this June.

In the beginning of it all, I thought I was weird and didn’t belong. It was a few years ago I realized that I’m not the only one. I found that out thanks to Youtube (Damn, I’m on that site a bit too much). I also realized that I would be called an introvert, because I would feel drained when being social, but would charge up, when I was alone (the opposite of an extrovert.). And being an introvert is not bad. I know that it’s just a part of who I am, but sadly a part of it is also my social phobia, but I’m actually working on that. But no matter what it would still mean that I’m an introvert, who likes to sit in my room all by myself (and some kind of sound e.g. Music, TV, etc.) and just relax in my own way. I can be social sometimes, but not that often. And if I am social it would be in small groups, so I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed and awkward, because I wouldn’t know what to do.

But again, it’s not bad being an introvert, as it’s not bad being an extrovert. Just have to remember that!

My Autumn Wish List

Today I decided to actually start a bit on the beauty posts! And with that, I wanted to share my Autumn Wish List. It might not be that interesting, but it could maybe give some inspirations for somebody. Who knows?

MAC Matte Lipstick – Kinda Sexy

I’ve always wanted a nude lipstick, so I thought it would be a good chance to put it on my little wish list. I choose MAC because of all the great things, you hear about them. But not did I only choose it on that reasons. I’ve searched a lot of reviews just to be sure that I would make the right purchase. And I still always wanted a nude lipstick, especially in matte, because I’m not really fund of the shiny ones. (I have one, which just has a bit too much shimmer in, which I don’t like)

When I saw this one, I just knew I had to have it. I kinda love that it’s two colours in one, but I’m still not so sure about. I don’t own the two colours, and just thought it would be a great opportunity to put it on my wish list.

Benefit: Groovy Kind-a love!

I smart palette I would love to own! It would make it so easy when going traveling, so I won’t have to carry a lot more with me, when I have the essentials in one compact palette. I love the neutral colours and I know I wouldn’t need any other colours, when I will go traveling, either to another city or another country.

MAC Lipstick – Russian Red

Yes, another MAC lipstick, but this time in a deeper red colour. It is autumn, and you can get away with a more dark lipstick colour, which I would love to try. Russian Red should suit me, because I’m quite pale/fair (however you would call it) with a red undertone. So I just hope that this red would look good on me. I haven’t owned a red lipstick, so if I can get my hands on this, it might be my first one, and I just really hope it suits me.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder – Blonde

Now for the brows. The only makeup product I own for my brows is a brow pencil. It’s good, but I’m not quite sure it’s the right colour for me, and I’m not really fond of the pencil all the time. That’s why I decided to put on a set with powder and wax, which should be good, and this one is not even expensive, but it should still be good.

Morphe Makeup Palette

This one I would really love to try out. I don’t want to try a specific palette. I want to choose my own colours for this palette. The eye shadows should be good, and it’s really cheap, which sounds like a bargain. I would probably choose different shades for nude. Might choose other colours, but I’m not really sure, if I’m brave enough to try that out.

So this was my Autumn Wish List. Not many products, but makeup can be really expensive, especially with the high-end products. But I hope I can get the chance to get my fingers on these.
